It remains unavailable on all streaming platforms and digital outlets for unknown reasons. Which is why 140 Grime St is unable to earn the flowers it deserves in modern conversations. A grime emcee at heart, it is satisfying to have at least one full grime album by Kano.
Kano, Home Sweet Home Full Album
British rapper Kano emerged during the mid-2000s as one of the most skilled MCs associated with the fledgling grime scene, then continued to grow artistically as well as commercially over the coming decades. Drawing from U.K. pirate radio as well as American rap, he possesses a dense, articulate rhyming style, ably switching between serious and light-hearted lyrical subjects with ease. First establishing his name with underground hits such as 2004's "P's and Q's," he made his full-length debut the following year with Home Sweet Home, one of grime's fundamental early releases. Following the more commercial 2007 effort London Town, Kano guested on tracks by artists such as Gorillaz and Chase & Status while releasing several underground mixtapes and independent albums in addition to pursuing his acting career. After a lengthy gap between albums, he returned in 2016 with the U.K. Top Ten-charting, MOBO-winning Made in the Manor.

Growing up in East London during the nineties, a young Kano took interest in a new underground sound that was slowly bubbling up to the surface: an exciting, high-octane evolution of UK garage and jungle that was to shortly become known as grime. The hype around this new breed of music proliferated throughout the streets, with rap battles, homemade mixtapes and illegal raves all growing in stature as this new culture took a hold on the capital.
In 2005 Kano released his second single, "Typical Me", his first full single release, produced by Dirty Rag and featuring Ghetts. "Typical Me" reached No. 22 in the UK Singles Charts. The video for "Typical Me" was directed by Andy Hylton. The third single, "Remember Me", fared less well in the charts, reaching No. 71. Two weeks later, on 27 June 2005, Kano's début album Home Sweet Home was released. The week his album was released, it was the highest new entry, debuting inside the UK top 40 at No. 36.
